What Attracts You?
I happened randomly across this Feministe post, an open thread, really -
Do you have a very rigid physical type to which you are attracted?
Highly recommended - I mean, Feministe readers are typically some pretty cool, progressive ladies and gents (and trans folks and gender neutral folks and...), so they're a good group to query about this touchy subject. As whole, everyone tagged personality over appearance, especially in how a great personality can make anyone gorgeous.
BTW, lots of the women nailed my type - tall, lanky, pale, dark-haired - maybe it's some kind of cultural thing for half-hippie half-hipster girls? (I mean, I'm not nearly absurd enough to be a hipster, but you know, you get the idea) Lots of people tagged nerds and guys with glasses, too. Heh.
Of course, when you look at the range of people whom I've dated, almost none fit all of those characteristics - I've been all over the place, and I like it that way.

this is great. and yes, i think the tall, lanky, dark haired guy is definitely a call for half hippie half hipster girls. the kind of guy strong enough to climb a mountain yet sensitive enough to paint you a picture. or at least talk about pictures. also, i am mourning steve irwin. also, i am procrastinating.

While I'd like to say I have a type, looking back on my dating career it's obvious that I do not end up dating my type very often. My ideal type is tall, dark-haired and any kind of eyes really, although I do especially like light eyes, with longish hair and glasses are a plus. Anywhere in the lanky-little meat on their bones is good for me.
Now let's recap:
Mikey - 5'11, 135 pounds. Hispanic.
Jarad - 6'4, 285 pounds, peroxide blonde. blue eyes.
etc. I jump all over the place.
I will say that Jeremy is by far the boyfriend I've been most attracted to, however, and I'm sure a lot of that has to do with how much I enjoy his personality combined with his looks.
